Do you want to be the very best like no one ever was? Do you think a kickflip will be your real test and grinding rails is your cause? Then you’re in luck, Poké-Fanatic! The Pokémon Company is teaming up with well known skateboard designer Bear Walker to bring us a series of limited edition Pokémon skateboards.

Pokémon genwunners will be pleased to no end, as this series here highlights some of the most famous faces of the first generation of Pokémon–the Pokémon that were the face of our anime routine after school, filled our card binders, and were traded often via a link cable. Series One will contain Mewtwo, Gengar, Pikachu, Gyarados, and Charizard. (Yes, we know; another Charizard form this time using Wood Style jutsu, but it looks incredible so don’t complain.)

Bearwalker And The Pokemon Center

The Pokémon Center will will have the first series of these limited edition boards starting February 11, 2020. No particular date is set yet for series two, but we imagine that we will be seeing another five boards based off some of our favorites from Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. (Personally I’m pulling for an Umbreon board to be made, but that’s just me.)

Pokémon is highly recognizable with a massive fanbase in the skateboard community, including myself, so for this collection I wanted to make more than a traditional branded deck. I’m setting out to make functional works of art featuring Pokémon and iconography that fans love in the custom style my decks are known for.

Given the high quality of their past boards and rave reviews from those who have bought Bear Walker skateboards in the past, we’re rather excited to see this unexpected collaboration. To us, these are legitimately works of art that would look amazing on a wall, let alone with a close-up shot as someone pulls off a few tricks out in a skatepark to a metal cover of Red’s battle theme.
