Let’s be honest, every time we think of Sonic the Hedgehog and shoes at the same time, all that comes to mind are those awesome Soap Shoes that Sonic was wearing in Sonic Adventure 2. Well, and also the amount of times people face-planted attempting to grind a rail while listening to City Escape on their Walkman. Good times, good times.

Now, we have a collaborative effort between the home of our favorite little blue hedgehog and Puma, who unveiled the PUMA x SONIC lines of clothing and shoes. Check out the announcement video:

We can’t say there’s been many shoe announcements that garner even a flake of interest from us, but putting licensed Sonic the Hedgehog shoes into a capsule was a nice touch. We have to assume the gold rings represent our dwindling bank accounts since each $120 pair of shoes will have you throwing cash around like Sonic landing on a bed of spikes.

We kind of want this, if we’re being honest.

It doesn’t just stop at a single pair of shoes like in that announcement video either. Sega and Puma went all-in with a full assortment of shoes, hats, shirts, bags, jackets, sandals, etc. Ever stop and feel as if your time at the gym would be more productive with Sonic and Knuckles on your shirt? You’re in luck! Think a pair of Amy Rose sneakers might help you on your next five miles on an elliptical? Sega and Puma have got you covered.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen the two come together to make some magical Green Zone action happen in the world of footwear. In 2018, Sega and Puma both released Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Eggman (Dr. Robotnik, if you’re an OG fan) themed shoes–which honestly looked pretty awesome if we’re being honest.

But, will they make us go fast?

The announcement makes for good timing with the Sonic the Hedgehog movie releasing this month. What better to promote a movie about a fast-running anthropomorphic spiny mammal than an entire line of active wear to go along with it?

We’re honestly tempted to change our wardrobes here and go to the movie premiere all decked out in these duds. Grab your gear over at the PUMA website and check out some of the new merch below:

When there's no more room in Hell, I shall seek appropriate lodging elsewhere.
